GoTips: Speech Bubble on Steroids... sort of...
I found the solution to the problem that I always talk about website updates too late... I just don't call them updates anymore! I say they are "Tips"! Clever, huh?! ... :oS
Today's tip is about a new feature added to speech bubbles. When you add a speech bubble to a scene, on the top right end of the stage, a small icon appears (just like for special effects). See below for a screenshot.
If you click on the small icon, a menu will appear with an option to edit the speech bubble's timing. After selecting this option the window below will appear:
In this window, you can change the time when the speech bubble appears and when it disappears within a scene. The reason to do that? Well, it is a way not to have to create multiple scenes when you have a dialog. Now you can easily have one character say something, and then they other reply in the same scene. Add your two speech bubbles, type in your text and change the timing according to who speaks first.
It also allows to cut long speeches of characters into several bubbles. Add a first speech bubble with half of what the character has to say, and then add a second speech bubble in the same scene that appears later on. See below for a very quick example.
Great feature on the speech bubbles. That will save me quite a few scenes.
